Dental Implants — permanent teeth, natural feeling

An implant is more than a dental prosthesis — it gives you back a piece of quality of life. As a specialist in oral surgery, Dr. Schwegmann is your expert for implantology.

Basics

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a small screw made of titanium or ceramic that is inserted into the jawbone. The actual dental prosthesis — a crown, bridge or denture — is then securely anchored on top. The result: teeth that look, feel and function like your own.

Transparency

How much do dental implants cost?

The cost of a dental implant varies depending on the complexity and individual findings. We always provide you with a transparent treatment and cost plan — before we begin treatment. Statutory health insurance covers the fixed subsidy for the prosthetic component; you pay the implant itself as your personal contribution.

Guideline: A single implant with crown typically costs between 1,800 and 3,500 euros.

FAQ

Your Questions About Implants

How long do implants last?

With good care and regular preventive check-ups, dental implants can last a lifetime. The crown on top lasts an average of 15–20 years.

Is the implantation painful?

Under local anesthesia, you won't feel anything. After the procedure, there may be slight swelling, which can be easily managed with simple painkillers.

Is it possible without bone grafting?

Often yes. Whether bone grafting is necessary will be determined in the initial consultation with a 3D scan.
